Terms of Service

Last updated 11 August 2026

These terms cover racquet stringing, grip work and memberships provided by Restring LA, operated by Danny Jimenez, Brentwood, Los Angeles, California. By placing an order or starting a membership you agree to them.

The short version. I string your racquet properly and on time, or the labor is free. You tell me about any damage to the frame before you hand it over. Memberships bill monthly, do not roll over, and you can cancel yourself at any time. If something is wrong, text me before disputing a charge. I will almost always just fix it.

1. What the service is

  1. I remove your old strings, install new ones at the tension and specification you select, and return the racquet to you. Grip work, grommet and bumper replacement are offered separately or alongside.
  2. Orders are placed at restringla.com or by text. The price shown at checkout is the full price for the work described. Nothing is added later without your agreement.
  3. Where you ask me to choose the string or tension, I use my judgement based on what you tell me about how the racquet has been feeling. That is a professional opinion, not a guarantee of a particular playing result.

2. Your racquet, and its condition

  1. You must tell me about any existing damage before handing the racquet over. Cracks, previous repairs, soft or brittle frames, damaged grommets, and frames over roughly ten years old all carry real risk during stringing.
  2. Stringing puts a frame under significant tension. A frame that is already cracked, fatigued or damaged can fail on the machine. I am not liable for the failure of a frame that was already damaged, was not disclosed, or failed because of its age or condition.
  3. If I spot damage before starting, I stop and text you before doing anything.
  4. If I damage a sound, undamaged frame through my own error, I will repair or replace it at its fair current market value, not its original purchase price. That is the limit of my liability for the frame.
  5. Strings can break in normal play at any time. String breakage after collection is not a defect and is not refundable.

3. Turnaround, and the guarantee

  1. Standard turnaround is two days and free. Next day is $10, and free on every membership. Same day is $15 if the racquet is with me by 1pm, or $25 after 1pm.
  2. If I miss the deadline you paid for, the labor on that racquet is free. That is the entire remedy. It does not extend to match fees, travel, replacement racquets or any other cost.
  3. The clock starts when the racquet is physically in my hands, not when you place the order. If you are late handing it over, the deadline moves with you.
  4. Where a part has to be sourced, such as a grommet strip or bumper, the turnaround is not fixed and no deadline guarantee applies. I confirm a date once I have the part.
  5. Deadlines do not apply where delay is outside my control, including illness, supplier failure, or events I could not reasonably prevent.

4. Payment

  1. Card payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your full card number.
  2. Paying online authorises the amount shown at checkout. Paying at the curb authorises the amount shown on the order.
  3. Prices can change, but the price you were shown when you ordered is the price you pay for that order.

5. Memberships

  1. Memberships bill monthly in advance, on the same date each month, until cancelled. By starting one you authorise that recurring charge.
  2. Your allowance resets on your renewal date. Unused restrings do not roll over and are not refundable. This is what allows me to hold queue priority open for you.
  3. Courtside fittings are capped: one a year on Team, and up to four a year on Estate, one per player, four maximum regardless of household size.
  4. Estate covers one household at one address. It is not transferable between households and is not for commercial or club use.
  5. Anything beyond your allowance is charged at normal rates.
  6. You can cancel at any time in the billing portal linked from your Stripe receipt, or by texting me. Cancellation stops future billing. You keep the remainder of the month you have already paid for. Part months are not refunded.
  7. You can ask me to pause billing instead of cancelling, for injury or travel.
  8. I may end a membership with 30 days notice, refunding any unused full months.

6. Refunds

  1. If the work is wrong, tell me within 7 days and I will restring it at no charge, or refund the labor if you would rather.
  2. Refunds are not given for a string or tension you chose and then did not enjoy, for strings that broke in play, or for unused membership allowance.
  3. Work already completed and collected is not refundable except under the guarantee in section 3 or the fault provision above.

7. Disputes and chargebacks

Text me first, on (616) 594-9604. I am one person and I answer my own phone. Nearly everything gets sorted the same day.

  1. By ordering you agree to contact me and allow a reasonable opportunity to fix a problem before filing a card dispute or chargeback.
  2. Records of your order, the work performed, and the messages confirming collection may be provided to the card issuer in response to a dispute.
  3. A chargeback filed for work that was delivered as described, without contacting me first, is a breach of these terms. I may decline future service.

8. Drop-off, collection and uncollected racquets

  1. Drop-off is curbside just off San Vicente in Brentwood. I send the exact spot when you book.
  2. Pickup and delivery is $15 a trip within roughly a 20 minute drive. Outside that I will tell you the cost before anything is charged.
  3. I text you when the racquet is ready. Racquets uncollected after 60 days from that message may be disposed of or sold to recover unpaid work, after a further written reminder.

9. Records and privacy

  1. I keep your name, phone number, address if you use delivery, and your racquet setup, so I do not have to ask again. That is all.
  2. I do not sell or share your details. Payment data is held by Stripe under their terms.
  3. Text messages are used for order updates and restring reminders. Reply STOP at any time.

10. General

  1. Except where stated otherwise, my total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
  2. Nothing here removes any right you have under California consumer law that cannot be waived by agreement.
  3. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute is handled in the courts of Los Angeles County.
  4. I may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here when you ordered.
  5. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
